Is Doing Dua With Waseelah of Prophet Muhammad SAW Allowed?

Here is a Discussion on Topic of Is Doing Dua With Waseelah of Prophet Muhammad SAW Allowed In Islam or not?

Sheikh
if anyone asks me that what is your aqeeda about asking with the wasilah of mohammad salalaho alaihe wasalam ?
and i reply neither i say its halal nor i say its haram . i just say ask help directly from ALLAH ta'ala .
is it a correct aqeedah ?
or i should have to believe in one of the two things that either its haram or halal ?

Abdullah
Its not halal at least , as for as my understanding is concerned.
The only wasila (intercession) of prophet (SA) we know about is on the day of judgement. Not in this life.
off course Allah knows the best.

Plus there are many types of tawassul.
Some are shirk, some are bidah and some are recommended i.e allowed.

The tawassul you mentioned (asking Allah by saying O Allah i ask you only by the right of your Prophet peace be upon him) is not shirk but a Bidah. Some scholars say it is permissible, some say better to leave this kind of tawassul because we should not indulge in doubt.

Shirk is directly asking help by saying YA GAWTH AL ADHAM MADAD, or YA Ahmad Raza Khan Madad and something like that.

Sheikh
can you share views of some famous classical scholar who say its biddah
and views of those who say its permissible .

Nadeem
well those who say it is not allowed are all the sahaba specially Ameer ul Momineen Omar bin Khattab ra when he said “O Allaah, we used to beseech You by means of (the du’aa’ of) Your Prophet for rain and You would give us rain; now we beseech You by means of (the du’aa’ of) the paternal uncle of Your Prophet, so grant us rain.” [Bukhari]
.
and see his creed here regarding asking from dead saint or Prophet

.
and see plenty of classical scholars here: http://www.systemoflife.com/articles/aqeedah/134-asking-from-dead-is-shirk-from-quransunnah-and-ijma
.
those who said its allowed were qadhi Shokani and likes of him but even he said asking from dead is the act of grave worshipers and he said Prophet peace be upon him had no ikhtiyaar to save any one. He just allowed the tawassul you mentioned.
